2023 Deer Hunting Conference

We are thrilled to announce the 2023 Deer Hunting Conference, hosted by the newly formed Oklahoma Hunters & Anglers (OHA), the Outdoor Nation Expo (ONE), and the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation (ODWC). This event, happening on August 12th, promises to be the best in our five-year history.

Our Hosts

The OHA, a group of dedicated individuals passionate about conservation and R3, serves Oklahoma’s sportsmen and women by enhancing the state’s wildlife and fisheries resources, our hunting and fishing heritage, and the conservation efforts of those who value Oklahoma’s fish and wildlife resources. As the board of directors continue their progress, more information about the OHA will be available soon.

The Outdoor Nation Expo (ONE), is an annual event held in Shawnee, OK in conjunction with the Fireflight Firelake Hot Air Balloon Festival to celebrate the love of the great outdoors. It caters to all ages, providing a fun and educational experience for everyone.

The invaluable support of the ODWC this year has been paramount to the success of our event. Their leadership in the Conference is truly appreciated.

Conference Overview

Our conference Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) will be providing valuable knowledge, expertise, and passion in their respective fields. Their participation forms the backbone of the conference. The conference activities will be held upstairs in the Firelake Arena in private seminar rooms, separate from the public attending the ONE activities downstairs.

Schedule and Location

The doors to the Firelake Arena (18145 Old Rangeline Rd, Shawnee, Oklahoma 74801) open at 8:00 am for Conference attendees. The conference kicks off with a brief opening session from 8:30 to 8:45, followed by two rounds of breakout sessions starting at 9:00. Each of the 12 sessions, plus two lunch sessions, are limited to one hour with a 15-minute break between sessions. The last session wraps up at 5:15 pm.

2023 Deer Hunting Conference

This year, we have an exciting lunchtime option! Attendees who choose to purchase lunch will enjoy a BBQ sandwich, chips and a drink at their selected lunch session, starting at 11:15. Guest speakers Jeff Danker and Daniel McVay will grace one lunch session, with Tess Maune and Lacie Lowry hosting the second. Attendees attending a lunch session will be entered into a special drawing for firearms provided by Taurus and Rossi.
